Rashtriya military school (RMS) was established in 1946
The schools are category ‘A’ establishment of the Army and are administrated by the Directorate General of Military Training at IHQ of MOD(Army).

- For 6th class – A candidate should not be less than 10 years and more than 12 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission.
- For 9th class – A candidate should not be less than 13 years and more than 15 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission.

- Both boys and girls are eligible for 6th
- Only boys are eligible for 9th class.
